Earlier this month (Nov 2025), High Wycombe MP Emma Reynolds met with members of the Buckinghamshire healthcare trust Cardiac Rehab Unit team as well as those from the Catheter Labs and Cardiac and Stroke Receiving Unit at Wycombe hospital.
In a statement on her facebook page Emma Reynolds states “These services are a lifeline for our community, and I’m deeply grateful to the dedicated staff who make this possible every day”.
“The team shared their plans for a new hospital building, with work due to start in early 2026. This investment is essential—the current building simply isn’t fit for the long term”.
At the present time, NHS funding for the Rehab Unit is at a critical level resulting in the team struggling to meet the current demand of patients recovering from cardiac events and potentially having to rely on funds from Hearts & Souls to cover just a basic level of service over the next 2 to 3 years, as well future help to equip the new facilities once they open.
This is a considerable commitment for our charity forcing us to look into the future structure of the charity and find new fund raising initiatives to meet these requests.
We are actively looking to engage with the local community to generate new interest and increase awareness in our project to provide the best cardiac rehabilitation possible. If you are able to help then please visit our website for ways to contribute with your time, financial donation or both.
