BACPR conference

In Oct 2025 several team members from the Buckinghamshire healthcare trust cardiac rehabilitation unit attended the BACPR conference (British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation) held in Glasgow funded by a donation from Hearts & Souls.

This was a two-day event that provided the most up-to-date evidence and practice across the core components of cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation; it also gave the team an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues from other hospitals who also work in the same field.

The feedback from the team has been extremely postive:

“The Bucks cardiac rehabilitation team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hearts and Souls for generously funding our team’s attendance at the recent BACPR Conference. This opportunity allowed our team to engage with leading experts, share best practices, and gain invaluable insights into the latest evidence-based approaches in cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation.

The conference provided a platform to explore innovative strategies for patient engagement, exercise prescription, and long-term lifestyle management, which will directly enhance the quality and effectiveness of our service. It deepened our understanding of new clinical guidelines and emerging technologies that support patient recovery and wellbeing.

The knowledge, skills, and inspiration gained from the event have already begun to influence our practice, strengthening our ability to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care. By implementing what we learned, we aim to further improve patient outcomes, promote self-management, and ensure that our service continues to reflect the highest national standards.

We are sincerely grateful to Hearts and Souls for investing in our professional development. Your support has empowered our team to grow, collaborate, and deliver even greater impact for our patients and community in the months and years ahead.”
