In Oct 2025 several team members from the Buckinghamshire healthcare trust cardiac rehabilitation unit attended the BACPR conference (British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation) held in Glasgow funded by a donation from Hearts & Souls.
This was a two-day event that provided the most up-to-date evidence and practice across the core components of cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation; it also gave the team an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues from other hospitals who also work in the same field.
The feedback from the team was extremely postive:
“I found the conference to be a very worthwhile experience. I had forgotten how much I enjoy learning and was very interested by all the research projects and new developments within CR.”
“It was also a great way to network with other services and problem share any issues we face with our delivery. Almost all the services reported a lack of staff funding and support from other departments, so we are not alone there, but there was also some very positive steps and trials to learn from. I found the presentations on gender bias and cardiac rehab uptake very interesting.”
